Our vastu_engine scores nine classical zones from your home questionnaire, then applies per-zone amplifiers from your planets (Jupiter → Northeast Ishan, Saturn → West, Ketu → Brahmasthan, and more). You get weighted scores, severity-graded doshas, mantras, and tiered remedies - not generic copy-paste tips.
Two modules work together: engine.score_answers
and chart_connector.
Single-choice answers map to zone deltas and optional severity flags. Unanswered items stay neutral. Personal-habit questions can register doshas that apply across the chart.
get_zone_amplifiers() assigns each zone a factor (~0.85–1.5) from combustion, debility,
dusthana houses, and more. Negative layout scores are magnified when the ruling planet is afflicted; positives are buffered.
get_chart_insights() adds practical hints: suggested sleep and work
directions from Moon sign and lagna, plus lists of chart-weak vs resilient zones.
Names and planets follow the data in vastu_zones.json. Each zone has ideal layouts, life-area tags, and scoring weight (Brahmasthan & Ishan weigh heavily).
Space + Water · wisdom, health, spirituality. Ideal: pooja, study, water; avoid kitchen, toilet, heavy bedroom.
Heart of home - keep open. Blockages here affect the whole family’s health and unity.
Fire · kitchen, generators, passion. Poor placement strains relationships and vitality.

Toilet in the most sacred zone - among the heaviest defects. Engine surfaces sea-salt rituals, door discipline, yantras, and long-term relocation guidance.
Each zone maps to a planet (for example Jupiter → Northeast Ishan, Venus → Southeast Agneya). Your chart drives per-zone amplifiers: debilitation, combustion, dusthanas, and similar factors make layout mistakes in that direction sting more; strong planets soften the same issues. Those factors are applied when your questionnaire answers are scored.
Tier 1 is usually symbolic (yantras, plants, salt rituals). Tier 2 can be elemental or colour balance. Tier 3 is structural - moving a kitchen, toilet, or stairs when you renovate. The report orders ideas from lighter steps toward bigger fixes.
Each zone starts from a neutral baseline, moves with your answers, then chart amplifiers reshape how harsh negatives are. The headline number is a weighted blend of all nine zones (Ishan and Brahmasthan carry more weight). Bands like Excellent, Good, Fair, Weak, and Critical summarise the 0–100 style score.
You need enough detail to place major rooms into the correct directional slice. Approximate layouts work if you know which zone holds your kitchen, master bedroom, toilets, stairs, and entrance.
It is a structured digital analysis: great for prioritising issues and understanding how your chart interacts with layout. Structural changes and complex plots still benefit from an expert visit.

Clear Quartz (Sphatik) and Sphatik Shree Yantra are primary prescriptions for the Northeast Ishan zone. Amethyst and Green Jade work as secondary options. Black or dark stones should be avoided in NE as they suppress Jupiter's energy. Placement facing north or east, on a white cloth, and cleansed on Purnima (full moon) is recommended.
Tulsi (Holy Basil) in the north or northeast is the most powerful indoor-outdoor plant for positive Vastu energy. Money Plant placed in the south or southeast (never northeast) attracts financial abundance. Aloe Vera in the north absorbs EMF radiation and strengthens Moon energy. Lucky Bamboo in the east (7 or 9 stalks) brings growth. Avoid cactus and thorny plants inside the home entirely.
Teak wood (Sagwan) is the most auspicious material for main entrance doors per classical Vastu texts including Vishvakarma Prakash. White marble is ideal for NE and Brahmasthan flooring. Fired clay brick (Ishtika) is the preferred wall material per Manasara. Black granite is best suited for SW grounding. Copper and brass are prescribed for east and north decorative and pooja items. Avoid dark tiles or granite in the Northeast zone.
