You need three details: your date of birth, your exact time of birth (from hospital records or birth certificate if possible), and your place of birth (city). Birth time accuracy matters - a 5-minute difference can change your Ascendant (Lagna) and shift house placements.

Vimshottari Dasha is the most widely used Vedic astrology timing system. It divides a 120-year cycle among the nine planets, with each planet ruling a specific period (Mahadasha).
